I found this amazing dress a while ago. It is both vintage and handmade.
It is basically the dress of my dreams.
One of my favorite places to visit is Yaddo Gardens, near Saratoga. It is peppered with statues, columns and fountains.
My favorite part of the garden is this archway. In the summer it is covered with climbing roses. I pared the dress with an antique Victorian petticoat and these leather reproduction Victorian boots. I would do just about anything for our culture to pick this up as mainstream.
Lastly, this public garden has a beautiful gate that makes me feel like I am walking into a land of fairy tales. I think my favorite part of this day was the part that I did not photograph. I sat on the end of one of some stone steps and read Wordsworth’s poetry. It had been one of the first warm days of spring; birds were chirping and the soft wind rustled the leaves here and there. The sun shone down warmly, so I wasn’t cold. It was perfect.
Such a lovely dress and it looks like early spring – those gardens must be magnificent in the summer. Just lovely and rather magical.
It’s such a beautiful dress!
And I’m envious that the weather is such that you needed the sun to keep from being cold. (We had 20 90+ days in May…)
Thankfully it is warm now!
how wonderful! I am glad for those happy moments!
